What this is, and why it helps
Cowork Team Report is a two-part Microsoft Copilot Cowork solution that shows your team the ROI they're getting from Copilot Cowork — the hours saved and the dollar value of that time — in a self-contained interactive HTML report.
- Each teammate runs the “member” skill. It looks at their own Copilot Cowork work and emails a private, plain-language summary — hours saved, the dollar value of that time, the kinds of work, and what they produced — to the Teams channel's email address.
- You run the “manager” skill. It reads that channel, combines everyone's summaries into an anonymized self-contained HTML dashboard with the how-to-read guide built in. Confirm your address and approve email delivery, then download and open the attachment in a browser. Scheduled builds do not send email automatically.
- Private by design. People's names and prompts are never shared, and raw file names are replaced with de-identified descriptions — only totals, categories, and de-identified descriptions, and nothing is ever shown at an individual level.
Both skills need to know the one Teams channel your team uses for these reports. Create that channel first (step 1), then copy both its link and its email address. The manager skill uses the link to read reports; the member skill uses the email address to deliver them.
Create a private, dedicated Teams channel for this rollup
Before anything else, create a brand-new, dedicated Teams channel just for these Cowork ROI reports.
- In Microsoft Teams, pick a team and choose ⋯ More options → Add channel (or Manage team → Add channel). Give it a clear name like Cowork report - {team}. Be sure to select Private when setting the Channel type.
- Add only the leader(s) who should have access to each team member's responses. To maintain privacy, only add the individual(s) who will be running the manager skill.
Why a dedicated channel? A fresh, leader-only channel keeps these reports private to the right people and gives the manager skill clean aggregation data — nothing else in the channel to wade through, so totals stay accurate.
Add your Teams channel link and email address
- From the channel's ⋯ menu, use Get link to channel.
Where do I find this link in Teams?
- Open Microsoft Teams (desktop or web) and go to the channel you created for Cowork reports (e.g. Cowork report - {team}).
- Hover the channel name in the left list and click the ⋯ More options button that appears to its right (or right-click the channel).
- Choose Copy link (some Teams versions label it Get link to channel).
- In the dialog, click Copy, then paste it into the box above.
The link looks like https://teams.microsoft.com/l/channel/19%3A…%40thread.tacv2/…?groupId=…. A plain chat link or a browser address-bar URL won't contain the groupId — use Copy link so it does.
- From the channel's ⋯ menu, use Get email address. Open 'Advanced Settings' and select the first option (Anyone can send emails to this address).
Where do I find the channel email address?
- Open the same dedicated Teams channel and select ⋯ More options.
- Choose Get email address, then copy the address into the box above.
- Open the email Advanced Settings and allow anyone to send emails to this address.
The member skill sends each reviewed report through Outlook to this address. It does not call the Teams posting API.
This validates both values right here in your browser. It pulls from the link the team_id, channel_id and channel name, checks the channel id is a real …@thread.… id, the team id is a valid GUID, and the channel email is valid. Do this before you download — the manager zip receives the link/IDs and the member zip receives the email address.
✓ Looks good — this channel will be baked into the skill zips you download below

This page runs entirely in your browser — it builds your skill links locally and makes no network calls to third parties.
Download both skills, then install the manager skill
Download both skills below — each already has the channel detail it needs baked in. Install the manager skill first (the Cowork Team Report - Team Dashboard Cowork Skill — "manager skill" is just how we refer to it here, and you run it); just keep the member skill handy — during setup the manager skill sends it to your team for you.
Step 1 · You install first
Manager skill —
Cowork Team Report - Team Dashboard Cowork Skill
Install and run this one first. Your verified channel gets baked into the download, so there's no Teams link to paste on first run.
Step 2 · Setup sends this
Member skill —
Cowork Team Report - Team Member Cowork Skill
Just keep this file — during setup the manager skill attaches it when it sends the member skill to your team. Your channel email gets baked in, so members never choose a recipient.
Now open Copilot Cowork, click the + icon and attach the manager .zip (not the member one; don't unzip it), then paste the command below.
💡 Why "walk me through setup"? Installing alone runs nothing. These words make the skill immediately offer to send the member skill to your team — the step that actually starts filling your dashboard.
Your verified channel gets baked into the download, so there's no link to paste on first run. During setup it helps you get the member skill to your team first. Once teammates have emailed their summaries, ask it to build the team Cowork Team Report — then let it run on a schedule and email your team automatically every couple of weeks.
🗓️ When to run the manager / dashboard skill: schedule it 1–2 days after the member cadence, so every member's report is in before it aggregates. For example, if members review and send every other Monday, run the manager skill Tuesday or Wednesday of that same week.
Optional — hand out the member skill yourself
During setup (step 3) the manager skill offers to send the member skill to your teammates for you — so most managers can skip this step. Use it only if you'd rather share the member .zip you downloaded in step 3 yourself, or post it once for the whole channel.
Post that .zip into your dedicated channel and @tag every member so they each install it. Each person uploads the .zip in Copilot Cowork (don't unzip it) and asks it to install:
📎 Safe to post the zip here: the manager / dashboard reader ignores zip files in the channel — it only reads the members' report summaries — so dropping the package in the same channel won't affect your aggregation data.
Your channel email is baked into the zip you share, so teammates never choose a recipient. Installing isn't enough — each teammate runs the member skill once to start it (and can choose to automate biweekly — every other Monday — right then). Tell them to type:
Running this yourself too? If you (the manager) also want your own Copilot Cowork work counted in the team numbers, install this team-member skill on your own Copilot Cowork as well — that part's optional.
That's it — here's what happens next
- Each teammate runs the member skill once to start it, reviews their sessions, and emails their private summary to your dedicated channel.
- Your manager skill reads those channel messages and builds an anonymized, self-contained
team-dashboard-report.html. Confirm your email address and approve the send. Download and open the attachment in a full browser, not the email preview. No server is required. - Keep it automated: your manager skill runs on its schedule (about every two weeks), and each teammate's member skill prompts for review on its own 15-day schedule — together they keep the picture current without automatic sharing. Existing manager schedules must be updated to build only.
The manager skill only ever reads what teammates choose to email into the channel — it never touches anyone's files, and no individual is named in the dashboard or the email.
