Hi Everyone,

We are announcing an update to the deadlines for the TREC Deep Learning (DL) track. The TREC DL track consists of two tasks: a document ranking task and a passage ranking task. Till today, the deadlines for submitting runs for both tasks were August 7, 2019. Today, we are announcing an extension of 1 additional week for the passage ranking task. The updated deadlines for submitting runs for the two tasks are as follows:

Document ranking task: August 7, 2019

Passage ranking task: August 14, 2019

Why: A recent data push inadvertently introduced some formatting errors to some of the files that are part of the passage ranking dataset. We believe that as of last night, all the impacted files have been reverted. We realize that TREC participants may want to update their runs based on the revised files. Therefore, after some deliberation we have decided to extend the deadline for the passage ranking task by an additional week to August 14 to give all participants the opportunity to revise their submissions. The deadline for the document ranking task is unchanged and is still August 7. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
