Balancing Product Features with Customer Value

What You'll Learn

In this lab, you will:

  • Identify the balance between promoting Microsoft product features and delivering customer value
  • Connect product capabilities to practical, memorable, and actionable benefits
  • Articulate the unique value proposition of your workshop
  • Design content that translates features into meaningful outcomes for participants

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Lab 1: Understanding Your Audience
  • Your audience analysis document from Lab 1
  • Understanding of the key features of the Microsoft products you'll be covering

Introduction

Effective workshop design means more than just showcasing product features—it’s about making those features relevant and valuable to your audience. As you plan your content, ask yourself:

  • How do the product features you highlight translate into meaningful outcomes for your customers?
  • Why would someone choose to spend their time on your workshop instead of something else?
  • What will they walk away with that they couldn’t easily learn elsewhere?

Your workshop should connect product capabilities to real-world benefits. Focus on how each feature or concept helps participants solve problems, save time, or unlock new opportunities. The most impactful workshops make the value proposition clear—participants should leave with skills and insights that matter to them, not just knowledge of product features.
