In a time when AI is reshaping how we work, connect, and solve problems, the Agent Build-A-Thon invites teams across organizations globally to step into the future with Microsoft Copilot Studio. Whether you're a seasoned maker or simply curious about what Copilot Studio can unlock, this Build-A-Thon is your chance to experiment boldly, learn rapidly, and build agents that solve for the real needs of your business.

Starting September 2025, Power CAT will be hosting monthly virtual Agent Build-A-Thons. This is a hands-on, team-based experience designed to accelerate the understanding and adoption of agentic AI. Over the course of three weeks, participating teams will:

Explore Copilot Studio’s capabilities through guided sessions and expert demos
Build custom agents that solve your real-world challenges or enhance internal workflows
Access Copilot Studio experts through office hours, Q&A channels to accelerate your build
Share your creations through storytelling, demos, and documentation

Here's a high-level agenda for the three weeks of the Agent Build-A-Thon:

What is the Copilot Studio Agent Build-A-Thon?

The Agent Build-A-Thon is an event hosted by the Power CAT Team. It invites organizational teams to learn, build & showcase their agents for their real business use-cases. The high-level (tentative) agenda for this event is as follows:

- Week 1: Up to 8 hours of instructor-led hands-on labs & use case envisioning
- Weeks 2 & 3: Teams will work on building their agents during this week. They will be supported by technical experts through daily office hours and 1:1 session with the experts upon request.
- Week 4: Showcase & Feedback session to demo your creations to other participants & technical advisors and obtain valuable real-time feedback from the experts.

When is the event taking place?

Power CAT will host an Agent Build-A-Thon every month starting September 2025. Registration is now open.

Who can participate?

Teams from any small, medium or large size organizations may participate. Multiple teams from within an organization can also participate by submitting different use-cases. One key requirement to participate in this Agent Build-A-Thon is that you have access to Microsoft Copilot Studio in your work tenant and have any required licenses or message packs to be able to experiment in your Dev tenant.

Who can join my team? Are there any team size restrictions?

All team members should be employed by the same organization. A project team can range from 2 to 5 members.

What are the requirements for the Build-A-Thon project?

Your project must include building an Agent using Copilot Studio. It may be a conversational or an autonomous agent. It should, preferably, use Gen-AI orchestration. It should address a real business need and demonstrate one or more compliance aspects of the agent for enterprise readiness.

Where do I build my project?

You are required to build your project within your enterprise tenant and approved environment and ensure you have the necessary licenses and credits

How do I showcase my project?

During week 4 of the Agent Build-A-Thon, we will host a Showcase & Feedback session, where your team will have the opportunity to showcase the agent you have built, its use case, and impact in front of the experts & other participants for real-time feedback.
