We’re excited to announce the initial release of the Data Integration data model and early-stage app, providing government agencies with a comprehensive framework for managing data synchronization and integration workflows across multiple systems.

What’s New

The Data Integration module introduces v1.0.0.0 releases for both the data model and model-driven app, establishing the foundation for robust cross-system data governance and synchronization capabilities.

Data Integration Data Model v1.0.0.0

The data model provides six core tables that work together to create a complete data integration lifecycle:

  • Integration Identifier - Maintains crosswalks between external system record identifiers and internal Dataverse record IDs, ensuring deterministic routing without duplication
  • Integration Commit Policy - Defines governance rules controlling how data flows into Dataverse, specifying which updates require certification and which systems are authoritative sources
  • Integration Value Map - Normalizes codes and terminology from external systems into canonical data vocabulary
  • Integration Sync Job - Captures batch headers for synchronization events with status tracking and audit trails
  • Integration Sync Item - Records individual field- or record-level updates processed during sync operations
  • Integration Ledger - Maintains long-term history and certification status for governed data aspects with complete provenance tracking

Data Integration App v1.0.0.0

The early-stage model-driven app provides the operational interface with organized navigation groups:

  • Setup - Configuration tools for Integration Identifiers, Value Maps, and Commit Policies
  • Processing - Management interface for Sync Jobs, Sync Items, and Ledgers

Each entity includes baseline Information forms, Quick Create forms, and Active views to support immediate use while providing extension points for customization.

Framework Benefits

This integration framework delivers several key advantages:

  • Reusable Architecture - Consistent patterns that work across any Dataverse-based solution
  • Governance-First Design - Built-in certification workflows and policy enforcement
  • Complete Audit Trails - Comprehensive provenance tracking from source event through certification
  • Flexible Data Mapping - Support for complex value transformations and terminology normalization
  • Deterministic Processing - Reliable data routing that prevents duplication and ambiguity

Getting Started

The Data Integration module requires the Core data model as a prerequisite. Both the data model and app are available for download and can be deployed to any Power Platform environment.

Current Status: This is a UI release that establishes the foundational interface and data structures. Integration workflows and automated behaviors will be added in future releases.

Looking Ahead

Future releases will expand the Data Integration module may include:

  • Automated synchronization workflows and business logic
  • Analytics dashboards for monitoring data quality and integration patterns
  • Advanced certification and approval processes
  • API endpoints for external system connectivity
  • Templated configurations for common integration scenarios
