Task 02: Publish and test the declarative agent

Introduction

Stakeholders need proof that Copilot can write tasks automatically before wider rollout.

Description

In this task you will publish the updated agent and validate its behaviour by issuing a test prompt that results in a new task being created in the user’s Tasks list in Microsoft To‑Do.

Success criteria

Publishing completes successfully.
Prompting the agent creates a new task in the Tasks list.

In the upper-right corner of the page, select Publish.
On the Publish agent page, review the information and then select Publish. Select Done.
Return to the Copilot Studio browser tab. Ensure that the Project Tracker agent displays.
If the Test pane is not visible, select Test.

In the Test pane, enter the following prompt to create a task in Microsoft To-Do and select Enter:

 Please create a task in To-Do, in the list named Tasks, to remind me to check TaskMaster Pro deadlines.

If prompted, select Sign in to Project Tracker to establish a connection with the Microsoft To-Do connector.

This will open up the connections page in Copilot Studio.
In the right-most column for Microsoft To-Do (Business), select Connect.
On the Create or pick a connection page, select Submit to allow permission for the connection.

The Status column will now display Connected.
Return to the browser tab with the Project Tracker chat.
Re-submit the previous prompt into the chat and select Enter:

This time, you’ll see a message confirming that a task has been created in your To-Do list.
Open the Microsoft To-Do application from the same account by opening a new browser tab and going to https://to-do.office.com. If prompted, sign in with your credentials.
On the new My day - To do tab, select Tasks in the left menu pane.

The newly created task will be listed.
If you select Check TaskMaster Pro deadlines in a real environment, you would be able to view details.
