Workspace-Backed Chat Uploads and Paste Support
Chat uploads now behave more like workspace uploads, and users can paste or drag files and images directly into the chat input.
Screenshots
These screenshots come from the same app-side Latest Features gallery used in the product experience.
Current release version: 0.250.001
Files uploaded from chat can become linked workspace documents with processing progress, search context, citations, and document lifecycle choices. Clipboard paste and drag-and-drop make it faster to get files, screenshots, and images into a conversation.
User Side
Chat uploads now behave more like workspace uploads, and users can paste or drag files and images directly into the chat input.
Admin Side
Availability may depend on tenant settings, governance policies, workspace scope, action configuration, or admin-managed identities. If you do not see this capability, contact your SimpleChat admin.

Why It Matters
This matters because users no longer need to decide whether chat or workspace upload is the right path before they start working with a file.
How to Try It
- Paste copied images or files into Chat, or drag files into the chat input when uploads are enabled.
- Review upload progress in the conversation while workspace processing continues.
- When deleting a conversation, choose whether linked workspace documents should be deleted or kept.
Notes
- This guide is part of the SimpleChat 0.250.001 latest-feature set.
- Screenshot filenames are placeholders until final captures are added.
