Layered Message Masking
Users can now apply multiple selected-text masks to the same message, including shared personal and group conversations.

Mask-plus and mask-minus controls let you layer selected-text masks independently from full-message masks. In collaborative conversations, masking metadata follows shared event updates while display names are bound to the authenticated user.
User Side
Users can now apply multiple selected-text masks to the same message, including shared personal and group conversations.
Admin Side
Availability may depend on tenant settings, governance policies, workspace scope, action configuration, or admin-managed identities. If you do not see this capability, contact your SimpleChat admin.

Why It Matters
This matters because users can hide multiple sensitive ranges in a message without losing control over previous masks.
How to Try It
- Use selected-text masking when only part of a message needs to be hidden.
- Use full-message masking when the entire message should be covered.
- Layered masks can be managed independently so one mask can be removed without clearing all others.
Notes
- This guide is part of the SimpleChat 0.250.001 latest-feature set.
- Screenshot filenames are placeholders until final captures are added.
