Chat Stops Yanking You to the Bottom

Current release version for Chat Stops Yanking You to the Bottom: 0.261.001

Previously, new streaming content pulled the viewport down even when you had deliberately scrolled up to read something. Now the view stays where you put it, and a floating scroll-to-latest button appears when there is newer content below your current position. The change also improves the experience for keyboard users and screen reader testing.

User Side

The conversation no longer jumps to the bottom while you are reading further up, and a floating control takes you to the newest content when you want it.

Admin Side

Admins decide whether Chat Stops Yanking You to the Bottom is available in your environment. If you cannot find Open Chat, ask whether the related settings, governance policy, or workspace access has been enabled for your account.

Why It Matters

This matters because losing your place mid-paragraph while an answer is still streaming makes long responses genuinely hard to read.

How to Try It

1. Open Chat and ask a question that produces a long streaming answer.
2. While it is still generating, scroll up to re-read an earlier part of the response.
3. Confirm the view stays where you put it instead of snapping back down.
4. Look for the floating scroll-to-latest control that appears near the bottom.
5. Select it when you are ready to return to the newest content.
6. Try the same flow using only the keyboard to move through the conversation.
7. Confirm focus order stays sensible as new content arrives.
