Welcome to the Modern Analytics Academy (MAA) - Data Modeling!

In Data Modeling we’ll look at how to structure a Data Lake, and how to leverage technologies like Synapse Spark, Synapse SQL, and Synapse Serverless SQL in conjunction with technologies like Delta to provde a mechanism for users and downstream visualization tools to query and explore data.

• Load New York Taxicab Data - In this tutorial, you will learn how to use the COPY statement to load New York Taxicab dataset into an Azure Synapse Dedicated SQL Pool from an Azure Blob Storage account.

• Use Serverless SQL Pool to Create a Logical Data Warehouse - In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a Logical Data Warehouse (LDW) on top of Azure storage and Azure Cosmos DB.

• Query Delta format using Synapse SQL Serverless Pool - In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to write a query using serverless Synapse SQL pool to read Apache Delta Lake files.

• Connect Serverless SQL Pool to Power BI - In this tutorial, you will learn how to create VIEWS within a Synapse SQL Serverless Database, and build a Power BI Report off of those VIEWS.
