Day 2

Overview

In Day 2, we will discuss Crowdsourcing and how people can participate in problem-solving processes at scale. Students will learn what crowdsourcing is and the variety of ways crowdsourcing is utilized. Students will then read an article about "citizen science" and explore four cutting edge scientific puzzles that allow individuals to participate in scientific research. Students will then learn about Bitcoin and the hazards of Bitcoin Mining. Students will examine the positive intentions of Bitcoin, but how Bitcoin Mining has created negative consequences.
