Task 2.1: Create and configure retention policy for Teams and Copilot for Microsoft 365
-  On the left navigation, select Home. 
- Select the Data lifecycle management solution card. - If the Data lifecycle management solution card isn’t displayed, select View all solutions and then select Data lifecycle management from the Data Governance section.
 
-  On the left menu, select Policies > Retention Policies. 
-  Select New retention policy to start the Create retention policy configuration. 
-  Enter a Name and Description for your new retention policy and then select Next. 
-  On the Policy Scope page, review the setting and then select Next. 
-  On the Choose the type of retention policy to create page, select Adaptive or Static depending on the organization’s needs and then select Next. -  If you select Adaptive: On the Choose adaptive policy scopes and locations page, select Add scopes and select one or more adaptive scopes that are created. - Add a policy scope.
- Select one or more locations and then select Next.
 
-  If you select Static: On the Choose locations to apply the policy page, select Teams chats and Copilot interactions. - Select Next.

-  On the Decide if you want to retain content, delete it, or both pages, specify the configuration options for retaining and deleting content and then select Next. 
-  Review the configuration and select Submit. 
- After the policy is created, select Done.
